2) phone interview
after review of each prospective caregiver's application, select candidates will be invited for a preliminary phone interview.
3) reference checks
after our initial phone screening, we require applicants to provide 3 references, 2 of which must be from a previous or current position in childcare or from working with children in another capacity, such as teaching, coaching, mentoring, or tutoring.
additional references may be from teachers, professors, or relevant community members that can speak to your character and reliability. references may not include family members.
4) in-person interview
candidates who advance past the phone interview and reference checks will be invited for an in-person interview at our office located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York.
5) background check
the last step in the application process for prospective caregivers is a thorough background check including SSN trace, criminal record searches at the county, state, and national level, sex offender database, domestic terrorist watch list, and motor vehicle records.
their kids covers the cost of background checks for all caregiver applicants.
